Abstract/Signs

The way I photograph is to arrange the visual elements into a good composition regardless of what the subject matter happens to be. Really, every photograph is abstract.

I rarely photograph anything to depict it as a subject. I photograph placing all elements in the best manner I can using light, shapes, lines, patterns, whatever – to try to make what is in the viewfinder into a thing of itself and not a representation of the subject in front of the camera.

These photographs are abstract or bits of signs so that one may not know what the subject matter is. When someone sees a photograph of mine like this they may ask, “What is it?” and I generally answer, “It is a photograph.”
